Meals to Prepare
- When using the meals that come in sachets, always mix the powder with water at room temperature, even if it is a meal to eat hot.
- Do not use the shaker to heat up any meal in the microwave. The shaker material is not suitable for microwaving and may become deformed.
- For meals that need to be fried (omelettes, pancakes), always use a good non-stick frying pan. Wipe just a few drops of oil around the frying pan before heating. Cook the mix over a gentle heat until it sets, then turn the heat up a bit if you want to toast the surface.
Put 90 ml of water (room temperature) in the shaker and then add the powder from the sachet. Shake well. Prepare a good non-stick frying pan with a few drops of oil rubbed round the inside and pour in the mix (you'll need a spatula to get it out of the shaker). Cook over a gentle heat until set. I don't recommend "browning" the surface as it gives it a slightly bitter taste. Alternatively, put the mixture in a microwaveable dish so that it is ¼-½ inch deep and microwave at full power for 1-1.5 minutes until set. I take it out every 15 seconds to stir it, otherwise the outer part sets before the middle. Pushing the warm parts towards the centre as they start to set helps to get more even cooking.
Put 40 ml of water (room temperature) in the mixer and then add the powder from the sachet. This is difficult to mix by shaking - better to use a fork. Mix until a dough is formed. Remove from the shaker and form a ball. Bake in the oven at 200C for 5-10 minutes.
