WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

The Body Mass Index (BMI) gives a height for weight table placing men and women of all shapes and sizes in a uniform band.

PronoKal® is suitable for people who are Overweight and above.

However, pure weight for height is misleading as a health marker, and care should be taken when measuring weight using the BMI as it is possible to be very muscular yet have a BMI that looks unhealthy.

Waist measurement is an additional crucial measure.

Fat around the centre of the body (in the typical apple shape) has been found to be more metabolically active than peripheral fat (pear shape). This type of fat can have a negative effect on the indicators of diabetes and other factors involved in coronary heart disease. A simple waist measure can indicate a need to lose weight as you could otherwise face significant health risks.
